Medication Is the First Treatment for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
February 10th, 2010 . by adminThe first of the three treatments for men with symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, or an enlarged prostate gland, is prescription medication. Your urologist can advise you on the best medication for your condition and explain any side effects that might occur. Of course, if you do experience any side effects while taking the medication consult your doctor at once. He may be able to change your medication to another that is better suited to you. Other avenues of treatment may need to be explored if the symptoms do not improve while taking prostate medication. If this is the case a non-surgical or surgical treatment may be necessary. Your urologist can advise you on which method would best benefit your condition.
