My husband and I were recently bless with twin girls. We have waited so long to have children, and that time has finally come. When I was released from the hospital, the babies had to stay for observation for a couple of more days. Although, we would have loved to take them home, it was a perfect opportunity for us to get their room together. We ran out and purchased some Discount Kids furniture that went perfectly with the colors we had painted the room. Not only was the furniture very affordable, but it was durable enough to last them for a long time.

Whether in wintertime or summertime, dry air makes my life a misery of rough lips and weepy eyes. I want to cease purchasing lotions and other make-do measures. A humidifier for the house looks to be my best choice right now. Yet, I didn’t think that searching for the best humidifier would take so much effort. I had no idea there were so many types of humidifiers. I think I’ll follow the classics and get a vaporizer humidifier. It’s a good thing there are both warm and cool mist vaporizers. Warm mist humidifiers actually use more power than the cool ones. It’d be in my best interest to get one of those to reduce my power charges.

Call it “java” or “joe,” add “latte” or “mocha” or “au Lait” to name a few, make it in a gourmet coffee maker, a grinder or an old electric coffee maker, use powder out of a bottle or put it through a decaffeination process. There have never been so many options on how to prepare, drink and enjoy coffee. Some street corners have two competing coffee houses. Casual restaurants are still called coffee shops. Supermarkets have whole sections devoted to different coffees, and countries tout their exports as being better than the neighboring country. There are special Demitasse cups for drinking just a little and “World’s Best Father” mugs and as many ways to enjoy Espresso – Breve, Lungo, Macchiato, Roast – as coffee kiosks in airports. Drink up. There’s a new flavor and style to try.

In my backyard I have a two acre garden. This garden is used to feed not only myself, my husband and our eight kids, we also pass along all surplus to our extended family and our church. The savings we achieve by growing more than half of our own food is amazing, but we are still looking at ways to cut costs even more. This year we are installing rainwater tanks on our roof. That way, when we are without rain for more than a few days, we can use this water to irrigate the garden. My husband is even talking about an underground system that will automatically do it for me. I can’t wait. No more moving sprinklers for me.

I’m a receptionist at a real real estate office and from time to time I’m asked to place ads in local the paper for Apartments for rent. Last week I had placed an ad for a three-bedroom loft apartment in a really nice neighborhood. The realtor asked me to write the description of the property because he didn’t have time. I wanted to make sure that the individual who read the ad knew that it was a three-bedroom and two-bath apartment then I added special features like the modern closet doors, the walk-in shower, and the large living room space. As soon as the ad was published we started getting several calls. The realtor said from now on you’re going to place all of our ads.

I knew that I had to find the perfect stain to put on my mother in laws deck or I would never hear the end of it if it failed and started to peel and flake after a short time. I figured that if I called and talked with some of the local companies that offer this type of service, I could get one of them to tell me what they used. I had some trouble at first, but then found a secretary with loose lips and she let it slip that they use twp deck stain. I could not find it in the local hardware store, but found a few twp deck stain suppliers online and ordered some from them. I just now have to hope that the twp deck stain does as it says it does on the site.

Tomorrow my husband will be keeping the kids while I go out to do birthday shopping for our son. He has asked for a picnic table as one of his gifts so I’m looking for a childrens furniture store that carries things like this. I saw a picnic table sized for children at our local home improvement store but it was just solid wood. I like bright colors for kids stuff, but I don’t have time to paint the one I saw. I’m hoping to find one that has already been finished in primary colors. If not, I’ll need to make the time to paint the wood one. My son really wants this so he’s getting it.

Of all the chicken and rice recipes out there one of my personal favorites is a quick fifteen minute chicken fried rice. To start, I just take three large eggs and make an omelette. Then toss some chicken strips with sesame oil and add in salt and pepper to taste. In a large frying pan, over medium heat, add a few tablespoons of vegetable oil and chicken strips. Fry these for a couple minutes until they start to brown. Add some onion and garlic and fry for another minute or so. Add three to four cups of cooked rice and mix this until the entire dish is hot. Chop up the omelette from earlier and combine. There you have it delicious chicken fried rice!

My family’s most recent home purchase was formerly the home of a family with a handicapped member. As a result, the home was wheelchair accessible and was set up with many accessories to ease daily life for this family. While most of the obvious changes were easily removed by my family, there was one feature that they liked, and therefore kept: the handicap shower tub combination that was featured in the main bathroom. My mom liked it because she didn’t have the possibility of slipping when getting in the tub with the small kids; it was very safe, and they also thought it was very convenient.
