We always told our kids when they wanted to buy a car, we would match their savings to help them out. Yet this way they felt they had to also work hard to earn it, and thereby they will most likely try to take care of the car they end up buying. If we bought it outright, then they might not feel so responsible for it and end up with a junker. So we went shopping and apparently my daughter had saved enough to be able to look at the new Honda Jazz models. She picked the middle grade car, as it was a bit nicer than the standard one.
